The Cerattepe (Artvin) mine contains volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) deposits in northeastern Turkey. This is a kuroko type deposit located Late Cretaceous volcanic, intrusive and sedimentary rocks, has structure with dense alteration stages. In this study, batch flotation tests were carried out to determine the behavior of new sample (mix ore), that was combination two different ores behaviors. mixed ore 2.18% Cu, 1.46% Zn, (Cu/Zn ratio 1.49) 38.35% Fe, 41.6% S content. An efficient separation copper minerals from zinc using conventional selective method could not be achieved due complex mineralogy very low liberation degree. Therefore, sequential resulted poor Cu recovery. effects parameters such as collector type, amount, particle size, pH conditions, investigated obtain bulk copper-zinc concentrate. best results obtained thionocarbamate (Aero 3894) dithiophosphine (Aerophine 3418A) reagents at d<sub>80</sub>=40 µm size. Under optimal conditions (grain µm, pH=11, amount reagent 60 g/t 3894), frother (MIBC)=50 g/t, solid ratio=32%, time=8 min), concentrate containing 13% 9.5% Zn yield 84.4% 88.9%. mass pull 13%. After rougher two-stage scavenger flotation, (rougher + products) 22%. Copper recoveries 91.8% 92.5%, respectively.
